Sea Shepherd has been harrying the Japanese whalers since January. The Agency says Sea Shepherd's actions cannot be tolerated since they pose a threat to the lives of Japanese crewmembers.

Japan says the anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd has thrown bottled acid at a Japanese research whaling ship travelling in the Southern Ocean.
Japan's Fisheries Agency says activists tried to obstruct the ship on Wednesday by throwing bottles containing strong-smelling butyric acid and paint. The obstruction continued for 5 hours. One crewmember was splashed with the acid but was unhurt.
