Reserved seats on Tokyo-bound bullet trains on the Tokaido, Tohoku and other lines were almost fully booked, while passengers for nonreserved seats on some trains exceeded capacity, according to Japan Railway companies.
Reservations on domestic flights to Haneda airport in Tokyo were also near capacity, according to Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways.
