A hacker has attacked the Web site of a Japanese museum, altering text to state that the Senkaku Islands belong to China.The National Institutes for Cultural Heritage says a museum worker noticed on Friday afternoon that the homepage's image database had been altered.
Museum officials have saved the access log for external users and are considering filing a complaint with police.
The issue of sovereignty over the islands has intensified since Wednesday when Chinese activists made an illegal landing on the Japanese-controlled islands in the East China Sea.
