Built in the USA, the Tacoma last appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2007 – where it proved a huge hit thanks to its staggering performance. The carbon fibre bodied machine gets four-wheel drive but weighs just 885kgs. To improve its handling and weight distribution, the engine is mounted behind the driver. Rod’s relationship with Toyota runs deep. He gained worldwide acclaim at the wheel of another Toyota, his all-wheel-drive Celica Turbo. His success with this car at Pikes Peak saw the 12.42-mile hill climb nicknamed ‘Millen’s Mountain’, thanks to Rod’s record-breaking 10:04.06 time in 1994.
In a recent poll hosted on our Facebook page, you voted the Tacoma your favourite Toyota racing car of all time.
